Strategically positioned on the Newell Highway, halfway between Brisbane and Melbourne and just three hours from Canberra, Forbes is centrally located between three major mines with a workforce of over 1,400 people. With a catchment area of over 70,000 people, it is fast becoming the regional retail hub of the Central West with a bustling town centre, all manner of speciality shops, cafes and restaurants, fast-food and national supermarket chains, a homemaker centre with Bunnings and a K-Hub, national agricultural support industries and major car dealerships.

Bring the kids, we have plenty to keep them occupied with 55 parks and playgrounds. For the bigger kids who are into skateboarding and BMX, they can carve, skid and whip their way around our local skatepark or BMX track or go mountain biking track around the many tracks.

There’s always something going on in Forbes. Catch one of the regular gigs at any of our licensed and entertainment venues. There are special interest music clubs and the Conservatorium of Music. If you like to kick up your heels there’s an Old Time and New Vogue dance group, along with garden clubs, arts groups and bridge clubs.
